Uganda, officially the Republic of Uganda, is a landlocked country in East Africa. It measures, 236,040 square kilometers (91,136 square miles) highest point on mainland is Margherita Peak (5,110 meters/16,765 feet) and lowest point on land is Lake Albert (621 meters/2,037 feet)
It is bordered on the east by Kenya, on the north by South Sudan, on the west by the Democratic Republic of the Congo, on the Southwest by Rwanda, and on the South by Tanzania. The southern part of the country includes a substantial portion of Lake Victoria, shared with Kenya and Tanzania, situating the country in the African Great Lakes region. Uganda also lies within the Nile basin, and has a varied but generally equatorial climate.
